REFERRAL POLICY:
Central Virginia Legal Aid Society (CVLAS) welcomes the opportunity to provide assistance when the applicant lives in - or the applicant's legal case arose in - our service area.
CVLAS serves five cities in central Virginia: Richmond, Petersburg, Hopewell, Colonial Heights, Charlottesville.
CVLAS also serves fifteen counties in central Virginia: Albemarle, Charles City, Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Fluvanna, Goochland, Greene, Hanover, Henrico, Louisa, Nelson, New Kent, Powhatan, Prince George and Surry)

° Organizations and other legal aid programs who wish to refer an applicant to CVLAS for possible legal assistance are asked to determine where the applicant lives and where the applicant's legal case arose before making a referral to CVLAS.
If the applicant does not live in the CVLAS service area and the applicant's legal case did not arise in our service area, please do not make a referral to CVLAS. Instead, please make referral to the legal aid program that serves the area where the applicant's case arose.
° Organizations and other legal aid programs who wish to refer an applicant to CVLAS for possible legal assistance are asked to call CVLAS first so we can check for conflicts of interest. Please call either of the following:
Martin Wegbreit, Senior Managing Attorney, 804-200-6045 (Direct) or toll-free 1-800-868-1012, ext. 6045
Rochelle Banks, Director of Intake, 804-200-6031 (Direct) or toll-free 1-800-868-1012, ext. 6031

Referrals that are e-mailed, faxed or mailed without a prior telephone call to allow CVLAS to check for conflicts of interest are strongly discouraged.
Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated.
